Politicians' Positions on the Waste-to-Energy Incinerator
Frederick County Commissioner
Maryland State delegate district 4A Candidate
John "Lennie" Thompson Jr.
In favor of the waste-to-energy incinerator
Thompson believes that incineration is "the least undesirable option." He said that the BOCC should not go to Annapolis to show opposition to Senator Mooney's bill "just to be pillory by a bunch of anarchists" and "bus loads of the trucked-in lynch mob" [those supporting Mooney's bill]. Supporters of the bill included Senator Frosh, Civil War Preservation Trust and Susan Trail of the Monocacy Battlefield.
Thompson and Gardner signed the Potomac Watershed Trash Treaty—but they want a trash incinerator that close to the Monocacy?
