How Can You Help Stop the Incinerator?

There will be a two-year process of permitting, and the next BOCC could overturn the incineration decision. Make your voice heard!

  1. This full-page ad will appear in the Frederick News-Post. It will be signed by hundreds of Frederick County residents concerned about the financial and environmental health of our community. If you would like to sign the ad send an e-mail with your name and locale. Your contribution of $5 or more will help pay for the ad. Please make checks payable to Sierra Club — Catoctin Group with “No Incinerator! ad” in the memo line. Contributions may be mailed to: Sierra Club, #4 East Church St., Frederick, MD 21701.
  2. Vote in the 2010 election. Remember that the only commissioner against incineration has been Kai Hagen. When the other BOCC members run for election in the future, keep in mind who voted for incineration. Vote for BOCC candidates who will overturn the decision.
  3. See our urgent action alerts if posted.
  4. See where our politicians stand, and let those that support incineration know how you feel.
  5. Request a No Incinerator sign for your yard.
  6. Download a window sign (52 kb).
  7. Get updates on Twitter.
  8. Join our Facebook groups: No Incinerator and CFIAnow.
  9. Contact us if you’d like to help out. We need help from everyone and anyone.
  10. Spread the word! Talk to at least one person today (neighbors, neighborhood e-mail list if applicable, grocery store, and place of worship) about the incinerator. Tell them to help spread the word.

Do your part to reduce waste at home and at work.
